Here are my responsibilities:
My first responsibility is to my Lord. To serve and glorify Him through all I do and say every moment in the places He puts me.
For my second responsibility the Lord called me all the way from Germany to take care of my Mother here at Penney Retirement Community, which I am doing with all my heart. She loves the Lord and thus has no problem with going along to all the outreaches the Lord has called me to here in Florida:
– Monday and Friday volunteering at the church office.
-Tuesday volunteering at the Pavilion (our clinic) the activity is called:”hugs & kisses” – which is a chocolate kiss and a real hug (boy do they enjoy the hug) after exercises and a throwing game, which I enjoy developing. They love playing.
-Wednesday volunteering at Hagen – our Alsheimer Unit. This is my favorite: exercise, singing, show and tell. They LOVE my samples of crafts from teaching Kindergarten through the years as show and tell, which includes the Lord every time. The hour ends with a throwing game and “God be with you till we meet again”.
-Thursdays and Saturdays I serve at Beyerhouse. I love to serve the assistant living residents. There is always opportunity to listen, share and help. This is the only time Mom is not with me. It is during her meal-, nap-, and activity time in the Pavilion during those two days.
All other times I am with Mom from 9 am until 9 pm. Always taking her for a walk in her wheel chair. She loves the fresh air, singing with her, playing games, taking her for a ride, watching the people in the mall, where the Lord has used us often as His light as well. Being with her at the Pavilion so much, there are always opportunities to help others as well and they are so greatful. So you see my time is in the Lord’s hands. His leading is always right and on time.
